Though
initially dry, the rains came and inspite of the volume, our 20 intrepid parishioners from St. Athanasius Church joined with 5000 people and our Scottish Catholic Bishops to consecrate Scotland to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Sunday 3rd of
September.

Donning rain jackets andunfurling a myriad of umbrellas, the faithful joined with our bishops for the historic Mass and consecration, and this took place at our National Marian Shrine at Carfin.

Bishop Brian McGee said

‘Today, we consecrate Scotland to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We express together sorrow for our personal and communal sinfulness, and we implore Mary’s guidance and strength that we live as a Christian nation should’
