This week we welcome to our parish a member of the Volunteer Mission Movement (VMM) to make this year’s annual Mission Appeal. VMM is an international lay Catholic development organisation founded in England in 1969, to recruit, prepare and support Christian men and women to spend a few years working as volunteers with Diocesan and local organisations in Africa, putting their profession-al or technical skills at the service of communities where needs are greatest. To date over 3,000 VMM volunteers have worked overseas in a variety of missionary and development programmes. To help support the work of VMM a collection will take place at the Masses next weekend.
